Playing & sound

Touch

Kick, snare, toms and crash use separate soft and hard recordings. Pen pressure controls strength; Shift accents keyboard hits. Closing the hi-hat cuts off the open hat.

Play the air drums

Camera air play: allow your camera, step back, and strike downward through the rings. Green dots follow your palms. Lift your hand before the next hit. Hand tracking runs locally; no video is recorded or uploaded. Camera mode needs a secure browser context. Mouse air play uses the same downward gestures with your pointer.

Tap any drum, cymbal, pad or groove beat. Your first interaction starts the sound. Multiple fingers and keys can play together. The pads, complete groove and playback controls stay on one screen.

Hi-hat: use the closed, open and pedal pads for three distinct sounds. Closed hat and pedal choke an open hit. Shift-click the 3D hi-hat for an open hit. Choke stops ringing cymbals; Stop silences everything.

Listen loops the selected groove. Adjust tempo and play along. Game mode teaches two cycles at your pace: play green drums, then follow the next cue in amber. A combination such as Kick + Hat needs both hits, together or one after another. Tap the green beat button to play the whole combination with one press. Wrong notes keep your place; Pause saves it, and Restart starts over.

In Rotate 3D, heads and cymbals keep playing. Drag shells or empty space to rotate; start pinch zoom away from the heads. Reset view restores the playing angle. In game mode the 3D hi-hat follows the requested open, closed or pedal stroke.

Recorded sound & credits

16 real sample recordings: drum kit by menegass and ride by trivialAccapella, distributed under CC0 through Sonic Pi. The original FLACs, source links and license are archived in the project. Soft and hard samples cover kick, snare, toms and crash; hi-hat and ride use one sample per articulation. Touch changes sample layer, volume and tone. The player approximates stick technique with a touchscreen or keyboard.
