Quick Start Guide

There have been several methods devloped to help people learn guitar. Some people like to pay hundreds of dollars for a personalized guitar teacher, others like to go to the local music store and buy books, some may even try and teach themselves. iPlayMusic.com has interviewed hundreds of people who want to learn guitar. What we have found is that about 90% of the people wanted to learn to play guitar songs and music rather then learning scales, notes, theory and other complex aspects of guitar. In this article we get right to the chase and explain how to learn guitar quickly, effectively and how you can skip the hard stuff and play the songs you love today.

The traditional route most people in the world used to learn to play guitar was to go to your local guitar shop and find an actual teacher. We agree that having someone in front of you instructing you how to do something is a great way to learn. There are still several problems with this method. First off, these personalized instructions can cost a fortune. For a typical 30 minute lesson you can be paying as much as $50. It will probably cost you hundreds of dollars before you are having fun and playing songs. The second issue is convenience. You have to schedule a time that works for both you and your instructor and you have to drive to the actual store. Often times it's the simple convenience factor that stops people from learning guitar and having fun. It becomes almost like a chore wich it should never be. Finally most teachers start off by teaching you what "they" believe is the right way to teach you. This includes learning scales, theory, methods, notes and other things that can are borring and frustrating when first starting out.

Fortunatly technology has come far enough along to allow you to completely eliminate the situation above. People now can effectively learn to play guitar in the comforts of their own home and learn what they want to learn instead of what the teacher wants them to learn. Now you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on lessons, you don't have to drive to some guitar store to learn guitar and you don't have to learn the boring frustrating aspects of guitar when first starting out. Below you will find iPlayMusics quick start guide to learning guitar.
